Job Description:
Reporting to the Sun Advantage Underwriting Manager, you will be responsible for:
Assess and manage risk by analyzing data relating to requests from existing customers or new business opportunities
Provide insights and creative solutions to help solve existing or new client problems when issues arise
Set pricing to renewal in-force contracts and provide quotations for new business opportunities
Meet Sun Life’s quality and service standards and respecting deadlines
Develop a good understanding of the administrative, contractual and legislative Group Benefits environment
Develop a strong understanding of Sun Life’s products and services, underwriting guidelines, systems and tools, pricing methodologies and market feedbacks
Partner with the sales and service team to provide outstanding client services and achieve profitability objectives
The Sun Advantage segment provides service to small and medium businesses (3-49 lives) represented by brokers, MGAs and TPAs.
What do you need to succeed?
Bilingualism (French, English) written and spoken is required – interactions with English-speaking customers or partners
Strong knowledge in Microsoft Suite
Group Benefit knowledge is an asset
STEM-related degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Administration, Finance or Accounting degree or equivalent experience
CEBS certificate is an asset
Solid analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills
Have a structured and systematic approach aimed at making a unique contribution to various emergency situations in compliance with internal policies and directives
Attention to details
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, under pressure, in an organized, efficient and autonomous manner
Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
Excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrated communication and negotiation skills both written and verbal
As part of the interview process, you will be required to complete math and Excel tests. An English/French grammatical test is required for Eastern Region.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
